python-grib software package provides Python module for reading and writing GRIB files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-grib
python-grib is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-grib package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-grib *
You will get with python-grib package name, version, architecture and description in a table
